So it’s been a long time since I wrote a devlog and that’s all on me. For the past 3 months, I’ve been hardcore job hunting. That process has sucked the life out of me. It’s also put a hard stop on many of the projects that I was working on including:
- react-native-detect: My native module that would allow for persistent background data tracking based on given permissions. Something that, had I completed, would have been very apt considering the recent Facebook news that has been going on.

- A tutorial series for the above. I had 2 articles mostly done (editing withstanding), but now that’s been stranded in limbo.

- LifeTracker: My React Native app that would allow you to track as much metadata about yourself as possible for self research. Either automatically or manually.

- Photo Sync and Compression service for the self-hosters out there. A backup, tagging, and organizing solution that allows you to reduce reliance on things like Google Photos while also adding some nice features on top of it.

- Bookmark + readability + archive service that is built using a REST API + bookmarklets so no extensions or plugins are required no matter what browser or device you’re on.

While I have been able to throw in an hour here, an hour there, it has amounted to very little progress. In the meantime, I did manage to do the following:
And what do I have to show at the end of all of it? No job offers yet.
That’s my quick update for now. I have a few other blog posts that are half written and between studying/practicing for interviews more, I hope to finish writing them and hopefully working on my own projects a bit more.
